THE ROYAL BENGAL MINAUDIÈRE

“For a lot of couturiers, a minaudière is meant to be precious, even dramatic. I wanted mine to be iconic but in a matter-of-fact way—almost like a logo t-shirt."

THE TAJ MINAUDIÈRE

“As a young boy, visiting the Taj Mahal was the holiday that dreams were made of. My family was never able to make the trip to Agra. So, we lived the dream vicariously— through miniature replicas and hand-me-down souvenirs proudly displayed on the shelves of our living room ‘showcase’. Beside old family portraits and cherished mementos that meant nothing to anyone but us. Beyond its obvious architectural brilliance and historical significance, for me, there is this visceral allure to the Taj Mahal that makes it truly iconic. Decades have passed and I still haven’t visited. Honestly, I’m intimidated, scared even... of physically encountering the monument that has captured my imagination so completely.”

THE TOLLY

“When I think about it, most of the women I met at Calcutta’s Tolly Club never really carried a bag. Maybe they never needed to.”

THE SHALIMAR MINAUDIÈRE

Mughal gardens laid with the geometry of faceted gemstones. Opulently masculine, yet severely feminine.

THE TROPICAL MINAUDIÈRE

Cane and rattan, gilded pillars, tropical fruit and washed linen. A heady mix of unassuming hedonism and rustic glamour. That's Calcutta.
